How can I get over the embarrasment over breaking a chair in front of a whole crowd because of my weight?
I was sitting on stage at a recent convention where I was a guest speaker, and when I was finished I went and sat on a folding chair on stage and it snapped and bursted out from under me and I took a spill... I am so fat and disgusted with myself, I am at my witts end. The whole crowd roared in laughter, (about 2,000) people in the audience.
Skinny people break chairs, too.
Embarrassing things happen to everyone. Just let it go.
If you want to lose weight, change your eating habits and exercise more. It's not that hard once you get into it. Read food labels and cut your calories down to 1500 to start with - avoid saturated fats, trans fats, and sugars. Try eating apples and carrots instead of candy bars and donuts. Real food tastes awesome once you stop spoiling yourself with nasty processed crap and pastries. Get creative with your meals and find ways to make more healthful foods taste better to you (without covering them with sugar or butter, I mean).
Go for a 30-minute brisk walk everyday. That's really all it takes - move and get your heart rate up for a little while. You don't have to go to the gym or buy anything, just walk quickly.
It's not as hard as it seems. Once you start looking better and feeling better you won't want to go back to your former weight.
