Ah ... probably not. Alternators tend to provide a constant charge batteries while the gel-filled new chair must be "massaged" by varying the charge that the process goes. Look at the lights your charger they flicker at different rates during different phases of the load. Overheating of the batteries will kill them, and a Battery Charger standard the car will do if you're not very careful, so I doubt the alternator will do a good job.
