What to do?

I'm planning a trip to NYC and my flight doesn't leave coming home until 10:00pm. I'll have to check out of my hotel by noon on the last day. That means, b/c I'll have a big suitcase and a duffle bag, I'll be forced to go straight to the airport and wait for 10 hours until my plane arrives!!! I REALLY don't want to do this! I want to be able to take advantage of my time in NYC and my entire last day will be spent in the airport unless I can find some alternative place to store my luggage. I've never had this dilemma before (having such a late flight home). Any good suggestions would be greatly appreciated! )) Thanks!

Most hotels are happy to hold your bags after checkout and before you need to leave for the airport. Check with them and be sure to tip a few bucks for the bellman who stores and retrieves your bags.
