I am stuck in chapter 9 on dead space?

I am stuck in chapter 9 on dead space, i have already played through this game once but i did not experience this. After you face the brute (large tank-like enemy) and go down the ramp and into the other room i get stuck. it is a hallway and you repeatedly hear "catastrophic failure of fuel containment, evacuate the vessel immediately."
at the end of that hallway is the elevator that you are supposed to use, but it needs to be powered by one of those large batteries that you pick up using kinesis. the problem is that there is no large battery in the hallway that i can find and the door locks behind you. i am not sure if this is a glitch or not, but i was searching this hallway for 20 minutes looking for the damn battery! i even tried restarting and killing the brute again and picking up a battery from earlier in the chapter however it would not let me carry it through the doorway.

I think that you do pick up a battery from earlier in the chapter (can't really remember where though) & then have to kinesis it to a door, set it down for a second whilst you open the door & then pick it back up again, putting it in the necessary slot when done.

If not, try looking around the area with the slot, as one time when i played through it had fallen out & was just lying on the ground!!
