How can I transfer 2832 .jpg photographs from my hard disc to a DVD?

I'm an old man (77) and not too familiar with the workings of my computer, so please be patient with me when replying:

Here are some free choices:

Nero has a limited time demo and has "Nero Smart-Start" which should guide you through burning a data DVD. http://ww2.nero.com/nero7/enu/nero7-demo.php

Picasa from Google is very easy to use.
From the menu it says "make a gift CD", but the help indicates you can make a CD or a DVD. I've not tried that feature yet. http://picasa.google.com/

Thile searching for something good for you, I spotted a free program called "Final burner".

Picassa it also a great photo organizer, so may be you'd want to start with that also so that you can get it ready for burning.

Also, there's a Google desktop plug in called "SpindleSearch", which indexes and let's you search CD's or DVDs when they're not in the drive. http://www.manastungare.com/projects/spindle-search/

You need Google desktop to run that if you're interested. You can get that here. http://desktop.google.com

I would have to know a little bit about your system (like where the files are and what type DVD drive you have) and then I'll have to try each one to get every step. Let me know which programs one you like.

P.S. Start with a DVD RW (re-writeable) disk if your burner supports them.

With these you can re-write them (like a video tape) until you have it just perfect. It's worth it even if you only buy one of them.
It'll vary depending on your burner, but you'll need either a "DVD-RW" OR a "DVD+RW" disc
