What qualifications do you need to join a rock) band (?
I am a 14 year old who is very interested in rock music, especially 'Guns n Roses. I play electric guitar for a couple of months, and plan to follow a structured note by courses quality with a qualified teacher. I played piano for about 6 years and have passed each exam (Introduction to grade 3) with the bottom and other top brands. I'm not very interested in academic music they teach in schools, but the theory of music quite good. I do not GCSE in music either, but plan to continue the piano and guitar. If ever I decided to join a group and do something serious (perhaps even professional), I might be accepted without formal qualifications in music (GCSE / alevel etc.)?
Talent, ambition, style, love for music, dedication and drive. When you audtion for a group .... blow them away! Judas Priest guitarist joined the band when he was 13 years and did not know how to play guitar. It was natural ...... If you have talent, they do not care how you got there! I'm not sure if you've heard of Yanni (there is more music from the new world), but it is self-taught musicians and one of the most successful of its kind. He actually started to make his own notes.
