Winchester Model 70 Sporter Deluxe ?
Does anyone own one of these rifles? im buying a 270. win in either Winchester Model 70 Sporter Deluxe or the Browning A-Bolt Medallion. I love both of these rifles. My dad owned an older model of the winchester model 70 and he loves it. Hes best friend owns a Browning A-Bolt medallion and he loves it. I have shot both and love both. WHat are ups and downs to both
Win 70:
Ups: Made by FN in South Carolina, Controlled Round Feeding,
1-piece bolt; forged steel receiver with integral recoil lug; Generous loading/ejection port; Hinged magazine floorplate; Adjustable trigger, 24" barrel
Downs: cannot load round directly into chamber because of risk of damaging extractor, 3 position safety, no iron sights
Browning:
Ups: 60 degree bolt throw, smooth action, Excellent bolt handle design; Triple locking lugs; Very good adjustable trigger; Very good accuracy; Very good workmanship, three locking lugs, 2 position tang safety
Downs: made in Japan by Miroku, pushfeed design, small loading/ejection port, awkward reloading system (magazine mounted on a hinge), Multi-piece bolt, 22" barrel, no iron sights
