Compact Wheelchair
Information on Shale Paths?
I am looking into building a Shale Path, or a path that is built out of rocks, and is extremely compacted, almost smooth enough to pass as a cement or concrete. It needs to be smooth enough so wheelchairs can go on if (for its in a nursing home) Any info on Shale would be appreciated, a link, your own info, whatever.

Real shale breaks rather easily, and would require a base beneath it. For a wheel chair I would suggest concrete. You could frame the walk, place fill sand in for leveling, & then lay ready made cement steps available at most home stores. They come in various sizes, some 12" square or larger. For all this work, you may as well use concrete.
